Nestor is a wine born from the Žilavka variety, which the ancestors of the Radenkovic family discovered during their travels through Herzegovina. Captivated by the potential of the variety in the Herzegovinian karst, they brought vines in their saddlebags on their horses, which they grafted and planted on the white sandy mineral substrate of the volcanic tuff of the magical Varina as far back as 1931.
An old vineyard without a lean-to, so called. župska planting, still keeps well and produces grapes that produce potent wines with an intense, strong body, rich in extract and rarely less than 13.5% alcohol, which is what this particular wine has. The aromas of this wine, although varietal, are also tickled by the specifics of the locality, which we will not describe to you, but will let you discover them yourself.
Because of the vineyard from which the grapes are grown, it has a name domesticated in the Byzantine Empire, which already has an epithet of an old Serbian name, it comes from Hellenic mythology from the wise and long-lived king Nestor, and in our people it is a synonym for a wise old man, which this vineyard certainly is in a way.
